Liverpool may be staring down another seismic decision this season. Sources close to the club claim that the Reds are seriously considering sacking manager Arne Slot, following a disastrous run of results and growing unrest inside Anfield. The catch? Cutting ties won’t come cheap with reports suggesting it could cost the club at least £10 million to buy out his contract.

WHY SLOT IS UNDER THREAT
Slot’s tenure started with promise. After winning the Premier League title, expectations were high. But since then, things have spiraled quickly. Consecutive heavy defeats including a 4–1 home loss to PSV and a 3–0 drubbing by Nottingham Forest — have exposed deeper tactical issues and a lack of squad coherence.

While Slot’s future hangs in the balance, Liverpool’s management are reportedly looking ahead — and planning big. Italian outlet reports claim the Reds are preparing a €120 million (£105 million) offer for AC Milan’s flying winger Rafael Leão. The swoop would presumably be designed to plug the left-wing gap created by Díaz’s departure.
Leão, 26, is enjoying a career renaissance at San Siro, blending speed, directness and a flair for being decisive. His arrival could inject the creativity and unpredictability Liverpool clearly lack right now — a bold statement of intent if the club does decide to reset.

Yet the path won’t be easy. Milan reportedly value Leão far higher — with release clauses rumored to exceed €170 million — and selling him mid-season may require serious leverage. Still, Liverpool appears ready to go all in; if the board backs both the purchase and a managerial shake-up, this could turn into a major winter overhaul.
